20,000 REDFISH TO BE RELEASED SATURDAY IN FLORIDA’S CITRUS COUNTY

On Saturday, CCA Florida and the Duke Energy Mariculture Center will partner, once again, to release 20,000 (4 to 8 inch), hatchery-reared juvenile redfish in Citrus County. This latest release is part of a multifunctional and multiyear strategy to rebuild and maintain game fish stocks. By year end, CCA Florida and Duke Energy will have released more than 100,000 redfish and spotted seatrout along Florida’s West Coast to help provide abundant recreational fishing opportunities. The release will be held at noon at Ft. Island Trail Beach located at 16000 W. Ft. Island Trail in Crystal River. Volunteers are encouraged to participate.
