Sabine Lake GOOD. 73 degrees. Water is muddy making it harder to fish, but fish are still biting. Birds are still working pointing you in the direction of fish. Redfish and trout are relating to the banks biting on glow chartreuse with quarter ounce jighead, gold spoons, and one-ounce silver spoons on the bottom. Bolivar GOOD. 75 degrees. Fishing has been great this past week. Many reports of bull redfish, redfish, and jackfish. Most catches are coming with live finger mullet, fresh cut bait, or squid.
Trinity Bay GOOD. 77 degrees. Birds working towards the northern end of the bay, but lots of catches of undersized speckled trout. Galveston Bay GOOD. 74 degrees. Black drum and redfish, along with the occasional speckled trout are still being caught in the A-lease gas wells. Anglers are catching a mix of black drum, speckled trout, and sheepsheads along the shorelines around Eagle Point. Bull reds remain active for anglers in the jetties. Texas City GOOD. 74 degrees. The fishing report remains the same for those Texas slams, flounder, speckled trout, slot redfish, fish in the bay using artificials, and live shrimp.FreeportGOOD. 80 degrees. The flounder are moving after the recent cold front. Redfish are schooling and feeding up like crazy. Reports of redfish anywhere from 26-32 inches. Chase the bird action to find schools of fish. Catch fish on gulp shrimp under a popping cork.
East Matagorda Bay GOOD. 79 degrees. The fishing improves after each cold front rolls through. Wade fishing is proving the best. Redfish are fair, with sporadic catches. Corpus Christi GOOD. 78 degrees. Fish are deep, so use depth finders to find them. Redfish are good at the jetties with bull and slot fish being caught. Trout are good at the gas wells on live shrimp.
Baffin Bay GOOD. 75 degrees. Fishing conditions this week in Baffin have been good catching good numbers of trout, redfish, sheepshead and black drum. Port Mansfield FAIR. 81 degrees. The water levels have fallen, as have the temperatures. Redfish are very active near the east cut and large oversized reds can be found just outside the jetty. Trout fishing is still slow, but large red snapper are being caught in state waters. Fishing should stay very good on the flats for at least the next month.
