FISHING REPORT: Lake Morena (CA) 9/8

GENERAL INFORMATION
Lake Morena County Park is located at 2550 Lake Morena Drive Campo, CA 91906.
The lake is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• The current water temperature is 76 degrees.
• Live baitfish and crayfish are prohibited.
• Rental Boats are available from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm
• CALIFORNIA STATE FISHING LICENSE IS REQUIRED!
NEWS AND EVENTS
• The Lower Boat Launch is Open. However, the dry conditions have caused water levels to drop rapidly. Watch for
submerged obstacles in the lake.
o All vessels must pass a Quagga Mussel Inspection (clean, drained, and dry) prior to launch.
o An $8 launch fee is required for all private vessels.
• Fall is arriving at Lake Morena!
o Bass active throughout the shoreline.
o Carp and catfish have been biting all over the lake!
o High winds.

CATFISH Mackerel, Bonito, Night Crawlers, Chicken Liver
TROUT Powerbait, Night Crawlers, Mini Jigs, Kastmasters
BASS Swimbaits, Plastics, crankbaits, Jigs
PANFISH/CARP Mealworms & Night Crawlers (Panfish) / Dough Balls, Corn (Carp)
CATCH HIGHLIGHTS
CATFISH Catfish are still being caught mostly on mackerel and chicken liver around rock outcroppings.
TROUT The last Rainbow Trout stock was 03/10/22. End of Trout season.
BASS Shoreline fishing near rocky area, 1-4 pound Bass being caught.
PANFISH/CARP Carp have been caught close to the courtesy dock.
