Walleye
- Walleye fishing continues to be excellent as water temperatures cool and fish are returning to fall staging areas to feed before winter sets in. Popular areas to target extend from Marblehead to Cleveland, with anglers targeting 20-45’ of water during daylight hours and moving into nearshore areas after sunset. Trolling deep- and shallow-diving stickbaits behind planer boards is the most common tactic for catching fall walleye. Shore anglers will find success casting stickbaits from piers after dark.
Yellow Perch
- Yellow Perch fishing has been very good this fall around Marblehead, between Kelleys and the Bass Islands, Avon, and in Cleveland Harbor. Most fish are being caught using emerald shiners on spreaders or crappie rigs. Expect these areas to stay productive as long as weather allows..
