Mon Aug 21- 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt J.R. a very nice afternoon of fishing on the Viking Star. Lots of action from start to finish with SeaBass and Porgies being the main rod bending culprits. We found some Fluke in our travels as well, with a few KEEPERS topping off the buckets. We did not have a pool on the boat this afternoon.
Mon Aug 21- Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Sea Bass
Capt J.R. reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We made our first drift near the Lighthouse and drifted there for about a 2-hour steady pick of mixed sized Porgies. We then worked our way east of the Lighthouse and made two anchors drops and had a decent pick of Seabass and Porgies, with half a dozen keeper Fluke. To finish off the trip we made a drift half way between the island and had some decent action, but mostly small stuff. We did not do a pool on the boat today, and we will definitely be sailing again tomorrow on at 5 am from the Montauk Lighthouse Porgies and SeaBass.
Mon Aug 21- 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt J.R. reports a very good morning of catching onboard the Viking Star. Big Porgies and SeaBass kept anglers busy all trip and were going into buckets at a constant pace. We also found a few very nice KEEPER Fluke to 6.5 lbs. Everybody had a very nice bag of meat to go home with. The first place pool winner went to John Miller from Queens, NY with a 6 lb. Fluke.
