VIKING STARSHIP
(Montauk, NY)
11/9 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports great fishing on the Viking Starship. There was a mix of Porgies and some SeaBass early. We moved around and it was a Porgy “bail job”! Off in the deeper water we found the bigger SeaBass and some mixed size Porgies. There were also about 10 Cod and a bunch of Bluefish. The pool winner was Angelito Flores from Manhattan, NY with a 3.5 lb Porgy.
11/8 Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Starship. We had some rough conditions, but we had a decent mixed bag of Porgies and SeaBass. The Porgies were mostly Larges and there were plenty of SeaBass with some real Jumbos up to 5 lbs. There was also a handful of Cod and some Bluefish. The pool winner was Lev Morris from Malibu, CA with a 2 1/2lb Porgy.
11/7 – Ultra LTD Blackfish & SeaBass
Capt JR reports an excellent morning of harvesting jumbo Knothead Sea Bass onboard the Viking Star. There were giant Sea Bass coming up all around the boat with some very nice sized Cod fish in the mix. After catching their limit of Sea Bass, they moved onto the Black fish grounds and it started off very well with keepers coming up immediately. Action slowed down somewhat, but held a steady pick for the remainder of the day. However, it was a definite improvement over yesterday’s performance. The first place pool winner went to Bruce Wahl from Greenport, NY with a 6.25 lb Blackfish. The edible pool winner went to Michael Bunch from Flanders, NY with a 5.25 lb Sea Bass.
Sun Nov 7 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Porgies were mostly on the larger size and there were plenty of Sea Bass coming around the boat. They had their limit of keeper Sea Bass with a handful of Cod on the boat and a few Bluefish. Overall, fishing was great, there wasn’t much travel necessary to get on the fish, leaving lots of time to fish.
