Jake The Snake Roberts Joins Saltwater Underground With Nick Honachefsky

Even if you’ve never followed pro wrestling, you’ve probably heard of Jake the Snake. WWE Pro Wrestling hall of famer Jake the Snake Roberts puts the smackdown on striped bass as he joins Saltwater Underground with Nick Honachefsky this Sunday February 18 at 5 AM on Discovery Channel.

Known for his signature finishing move the DDT, Jake and Nick rumble around Raritan Bay New Jersey to chase down blitzing schools of striped bass. “We picked a perfect day to target stripers,” said Honachefsky. “Thousands of bass blitzing on bunker schools made for some seriously epic drone and underwater striper footage with Jake. This is not an episode to miss.”

“The Snake” is not unaccustomed to fishing as his passion for the sport has taken him around the country for crappie, redfish, king mackerel and flounder. “Jake spills some truly funny stories from the wrestling ring as well as his fondest fishing memories during the episode. If you want some inside stories on Macho Man and Andre the Giant combined with explosive topwater striper fishing, tune in.”

Honachefsky has been a sport fishing and travel writer and editor for the past 25 years and is executive producer and host of Saltwater Underground.

Saltwater Underground’s growing stable of sponsors include Yo-Zuri, Bubba Blade, IslandX Lures, Fisherman’s Supply, RonZ lures, Grundens, and Grumpy’s Tackle.

Saltwater Underground airs 5 AM on Discovery Channel throughout February.
