Thursday, 10-9-25
Today we were on High Rock lake searching for crappies for our fishermen to include them as the guest of honor in their fish frys. We were fishing with Darrel Clodfelter,Jr from Lexington, NC Tonya and Richard Tysinger also from Lexington, NC and Ray Henderson from Colfax,NC.

Thursday, 10-9-25 Today we were on High Rock lake searching for crappies for our fishermen to include them as the guest of honor in their fish frys. We were fishing with Darrel Clodfelter,Jr from Lexington, NC Tonya and Richard Tysinger also from Lexington, NC and Ray Henderson from Colfax,NC. The winds today were blowing pretty good from the NE and I figured it being attached to a front on the full moon was going to make it a challenging day for crappies. We hit some of our places with deeper water in the 18 to 20 feet depths and the crappies and a few bream were pretty abundant and it was a slow pick at the best. After a few of these producing the same slow bite I decided to move to a different pattern and concentrate on drop offs. I've always liked to fish drops and have a lot of confidence with this pattern this time of year. It was one of those trips today that keeps me doing what we do. Great people, great fun, exceptional comraderrey, and on top of all that great fishing. When everything was over this evening the guys and gals had put 75 very nice crappies in the cooler despite all the ones we missed and just got off the hook, and lots of them were slabs. Going to try again tomorrow, hope they stay on the dropoffs. If they don't, we'll just have to search them out again wherever they are. If you get the chance to go crappie fishing, it's one of the best times of the year to go. Tuesday, 10-7-25 Thanks for all the prayers, Barbara is home and the scare was nothing major. She's resting and doing better. God Bless you all!!! Tuesday, we were fishing with Melvin Lee from Lexington, NC John Henry Kempf from Yadkinville, NC and Rudy Mast from Williams field, OH. Our 1st stop was a disaster, the fish were there just wasn't wanting to be invited to the fish fry!!! The next stop and those there after had active fish that wanted to join the party. One stop even produced a citation 1.2 pound shellcracker. This group, like so many others, are a pleasure to fish with. A lot of friendly competition among them and a whole lot of "smack" talk all in part of the fun enjoying the day crappie fishing on the Yeah Right Charters 24' pontoon. I've had a lot of folks ask me how do I follow this page to not miss any reports and pictures.
