Sundance II

[adguru zoneid=”3067″]

The Sundance II sails Half Day every day @11am. It was built by human hands in southwest Maine in 1970 from Juniper and Oak timber and monel nails. She fished out of New Hamshire for 40 yrs catching Codfish, pollack and Haddock during the summer. Handling the North Atlantic her heavy duty construction make for a very sea-kind boat with a soft round chine hull and heavy wood planking. The Two diesel engines in her are the real deal all steel heavy work horses, just like the engines that helped us win World War II.

In 2014 we purchased her and on labor day we set sail on a 2000 mile trip with a 40 yr old boat from New Hamshire, she handled the ocean trip like we were on a vacation cruise. Running perfect all the way to Florida. The picture above was taken on September 14th day she arrived at our dock in Tarpon Springs. We all love the boat, her classic lines, her kind gentle ride at sea, the hand crafted construction and the smell of old timber down below just somehow makes us feel good.

We just updated the electronics with a new Furuno radar and digital fishfinder. We also updated the steering system helm and hydraulic ram system. “Its hard to believe that the original steering system lasted nearly 50 years”
